After reading the given text (A Brother’s Murder) I spotted the main characters and their actions and built the diagram (table) based on it (character X time). The whole group organized the ideas within the text in the same way, which helped on the discussion to create the final diagram. With a visual structure of the text, we were able to create our concept – an interactive game/ narrative, which has as an interface a mobile phone. The group discussed about how the idea should be organized and how to approach the user. After the tutorial with Radam, some changes were made on the diagram, but nothing that could compromise the concept. To help build the storyboard and later the filming (due to our concept, the best way to present the user with the different stories would be filming it), we created a script for each of the four characters point of view in each of the eight moments of the story. On total we would have 32 short videos. Since we would be filming the story, I thought the best way to build the storyboard would be using pictures, as they would help us later with the shooting. We all gathered at my house, where it seemed more suitable to film the story and took the pictures based on the script we had previously written. I organized the storyboard based on some sketches I had done when discussing the project with the group. Radam suggested during our second tutorial to add an ending to the game. We agreed on having the user spot the culprit, together with the time and the place where the murder was committed and two final screens: one in case the user gets it right and another in case he/she gets it wrong. The storyboard was useful to give me an overview about the final piece. Afterwards, it helped a lot creating the first usability test (the storyboard was used for it), visualizing the story for the filming, doing the video editing (one of my tasks in this project) and it was used as a visual guide to create the final product in Director. In the first stage of the project the group worked together to create the whole concept for later identify the main tasks involved. In the end each member was assigned a task, with one person assisting. This worked really fine as we had the opportunity to do new things and learn from each other. The asset register, helped us organize the files we were creating, making sure that anyone in the group could find it whenever they needed it. The name of the files and the folders and where they were placed was taken into consideration as well. Later on the project, when looking at the Director piece created by Mazy, who was the one responsible for the scripting, I found it easy to understand what had been done and didn’t think that an explanation before each script was needed (the scripts themselves were obvious).
